Join us as we celebrate the arrival of Fall with a refreshing 108 Sun Salutation Practice!
The Fall Equinox marks a time when the length of day and the length of night come to near equanimity. This creates an auspicious atmosphere for us to seek and cultivate balance, rejuvenation, and peace. In this surprisingly meditative practice, we will complete 108 Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar A) divided into 4 rounds of 27. Time between rounds will be given for rest, relaxation, and even stepping outside to feel the Fall breeze. Modifications will be given and all levels of students are encouraged to attend! This challenging, yet light-hearted evening allows each student to dive deeper into their own unique yoga practices and feel inspired as they move into a brand new season! I was so honored to have been able to teach Yoga Culture Caravan #8 with lululemon and Native! It was a wonderful event! A fantastic photographer, Daniel C. White, was there to capture moments from our practice! The photos turned out so beautifully that I just had to share them! Enjoy! (All photo credit to Daniel C. White Photography) Namaste

These false perceptions are said to be the basis for all of our suffering. They block us from experiencing the Wholeness of our being and from seeing our True Selves. Meditation is the practice where we learn to work with our mind to calm it and to dive deeper into ourselves finding truth, love, and wisdom. Meditation is powerful, beneficial beyond measure, and accessible to all! Just like with asana (postures), meditation takes practice and there are many different techniques you can use to meditate. In this workshop, we will approach multiple meditation techniques with light-heartedness and practicality to help you find the ones that resonate with you. We will incorporate 10 -15min. asana practices in between each meditation technique allowing us to refresh and practice maintaining a meditative state with movement! Join us for this wonderful evening workshop full of potential for growth, knowledge, and transformation! This workshop will be accessible to all and beneficial for every level of yoga student. Bring some paper and a pen for note taking if you would like. Some blankets and bolsters will be provided. If you have a favorite meditation cushion feel free to bring it! Dress comfortably and be prepared to practice some asana. Bring a yoga mat, we have them available to rent at studio too. Register Here! Namaste Summer Solstice One Oh! Slow & Deep
A Special 4 Week Series Unity Yoga Room Fridays May 16th - June 6th 6:00 - 7:30pm $89 for all 4 classes In this series, we will explore how coordinating gentle movement with the breath can feel like a powerful moving meditation. Our pace will be slow and sweet, like honey, to give us that precious time to notice all the elements of our yoga practice working together. By moving at this slower pace, we will be able to find new perspectives on the poses as well as build strength and stability. In this series, we will also create space with deep opening Yin postures (stretching poses) to unwind tension and invite balance in the body. We will relax in supported Restorative postures to calm and renew. With depth in our practice, we can nourish and address our whole being. Depth also refers to the concept of advancing your practice by moving deeper not only into your asana (posture) practice, but into your own Self-knowledge, your heart and spirit, and to feel connected to all of those layers of your being. In this series, we will explore beginner friendly meditation and breathing techniques that allow your awareness to move deeper inward to create a wonderful sense of depth in your yoga experience. * The nature of this series makes it very suitable for beginners. It will also be great for those wanting a slow and sweet class on Friday evenings! * I hope you will join me! In this workshop we will breakdown the fundamentals of both arm balances and inversions in an approachable and light-hearted way. These poses tend to be some of the most intimidating poses we encounter in our practices, but with some education and practice they are quite accessible and lots of fun! Beginners are welcome! This workshop will be great for students looking to find their foundations in these poses and for those who are looking to refine their practices through more advanced options. With Liz and I co-teaching, you can expect to receive ample one-on-one attention and get two different, yet complimentary, perspectives on many of the poses you see in a Vinyasa or Power Flow class setting. We will begin with a nice warm-up flow, play first with arm balances, and then inversions! We will end the afternoon with time for questions! It is sure to be a great time, so join us! Pre-registration is highly recommended for this workshop. Namaste Spring Equinox One Oh! Back bends are powerful poses that have a multitude of benefits. Back bends strengthen the spine and core, open the lungs to receive more breath, and create much needed space throughout the shoulders. Energetically, back bends can be especially powerful and freeing as they open the energetic heart center. You will learn more about the many roles of the energetic heart center throughout this workshop! Frequently back bending poses can be emotionally charged and fear can play a role in the resistance to these poses, however when done properly and honestly backbends can have an inspiring, empowering, and uplifting effect! All levels welcome! Namaste |
