Join us as we will break down the fundamentals of safe back bending and open our hearts at Unity Yoga Room! We will explore postures from Updog to Wild-Thing to Full Wheel, refine the more intricate elements of these refreshing and uplifting poses, and explore heart opening meditation! We will also have some fun, easy partner poses to put our practice into light-hearted action. This is a perfect way to spend an afternoon with your Valentine, creating space for love and laughter!
Back bends are powerful poses that have a multitude of benefits. Back bends strengthen the spine and core, open the lungs to receive more breath, and create much needed space throughout the shoulders. Energetically, back bends can be especially powerful and freeing as they open the energetic heart center. You will learn more about the many roles of the energetic heart center throughout this workshop! Frequently back bending poses can be emotionally charged and fear can play a role in the resistance to these poses, however when done properly and honestly backbends can have an inspiring, empowering, and uplifting effect!
